Maggie Schleppy is a Colorado native and writer for screen, stage, and page. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Writing for Film and Television from The Los Angeles Film School. Her creative wheelhouse is character-driven drama, often blended with elements of other genres, including fantasy and thriller. Her stories frequently explore human connection and self-discovery: the relationships that shape us, the lengths we’ll go for one another, and the ways those connections can change how we see ourselves. Her characters are often learning to trust, forgive, accept, or better understand themselves along the way. Through her work, Maggie strives not only to tell compelling stories, but to leave audiences with questions that invite them to reflect on the stories, their own lives, and the connections between the two.

Maggie’s pilot script, Expect the Unexpected, was a finalist in Stage 32’s 6th Annual TV Drama Screenwriting Competition and a semifinalist in Stage 32’s 5th Annual Female Driven Screenwriting Contest. Most recently, she wore numerous hats throughout pre-production, production, and post-production on Project Firebreak, a seven-short-film production. In addition to writing Echoes of a Forgotten Path, Maggie served as Production Manager across the project, 1st Assistant Director on five of the seven films, and Script Supervisor on five. When she isn’t working on a story or production, Maggie can usually be found spending time with family and friends during the day—or consuming other people’s stories through books, films, television, and video games into the earliest hours of the morning.
